The idea for Berghaus Christel started in 2014, out of a love for Austria and the wish for a place of our own in the Alps, a childhood dream of a house in the Alps that became reality at the end of 2017. The house was built with attention to detail and furnished with the same care: a warm, cosy home with natural materials, a south-facing garden, and an open view of the mountains.

Location & view
Berghaus Christel is in the village of Seltschach, with a view of the mountain that marks the Dreiländereck, where Austria, Italy and Slovenia meet. The ski lift starts 100 metres from the house and runs year-round. Both Tarvisio (Italy) and Slovenia are about a 15-minute drive away.

Our holiday home is 100 metres from the ski lift, at the foot of the mountain of the Dreiländereck, where Austria, Italy and Slovenia meet. A fantastic spot, centrally located in Carinthia, Austria. Activities across Carinthia, Italy and Slovenia are excellently accessible. Our holiday home is just off the motorway. Most activities in Carinthia can be reached within 30 minutes.
The Dreiländereck is a unique location for an unforgettable holiday, with Faaker See and Ossiacher See close by. The area offers a huge range of possibilities, in both winter and summer (the ski lift runs in winter and summer).
Anyone who loves culture, nature and outdoor activities will have a wonderful holiday here. With a large back garden, a trampoline and a mountain stream to play in, it’s also a lovely holiday home for children.
Staying at our holiday home puts three cultures, the mountains and the lakes all close together. Berghaus Christel is very easy to reach by car: at Arnoldstein you leave the motorway, then it’s 3 kilometres along a local road to the house. Berghaus Christel sits at an altitude of 680 metres in the village of Seltschach. In winter, this road is kept clear of snow.
